Reasons why fad diets don’t work

There are a lot of fad diets popping up almost every day. And each day, these fad diets present some new gimmick to entice dieters to take on their weight loss program. However, fad diet pills are short-lived. As a dieter who have followed seemingly numerous diet plans already, have you ever wondered why fad diets fall short?

It is normal for humans to crave for foods that are rich in calories. Although most fad diets are effective to lose weight fast, nobody can really keep up to the demands of most fad diet. Eventually, a dieter will find that fad diets are too strict and do not offer any leniency when it comes to the type of food that needs to be taken in. After following the weight management  guide of a particular fad diet, a dieter will soon get bored with the selection of foods and, as a result, a dieter quits the current that he or she is on to look for another fad diet that offers to lose weight fast.

On the other hand, most fad diets do not necessarily help you lose fat. Instead, most fad diet plans only lose the water weight and muscle mass of the body. If you look at it closely, this weight loss method is wrong. Eventually, as soon as a dieter goes back to his or her normal eating habits, the sooner the dieter gains his or her weight back.

Another thing is that instead of aiding in the body’s capacity to burn fat, fad diets slow down a dieter’s metabolism rate. When your metabolism is working properly, you are able to burn fat effectively. Any weight management plan that offers to lower down everything (food consumption) results your body to slow down its metabolism as well.

There has never been a fad diet that can sustain long-term weight loss for a dieter. The key for a diet to work properly is to take everything in moderation.
