This is the reason why most people do an extra mile to burn fat and carbohydrates and as a result, a dieter only gets exhaustion more than burning fat. Here are some common myths when it comes to the body burning fat.

People think that once the body is using a fuel, say Carbohydrates, it shuts off the other fuel source which is fat. This is the reason why people cut back on carbohydrates to address their need to burn fat. Some people also go as far as starving themselves to lose weight.

However, the truth behind it is that both carbohydrates and fat are equally important and are used by the body to provide energy.   Moreover, the body usually stores the excess energy obtained from carbohydrates to lipid cells which are also called fat cells. So if you are planning to cutback on your fat intake, remember that carbohydrates can be turned into fat.

On the other hand, when it comes to exercise, people think that engaging on a longer duration exercise burns fat more than doing a short exercise. However, regardless whether you do a short or long exercise, the important thing is the intensity of the exercise that you do.

If you do your exercise for 30 minutes and yet all you do is to take a walk, then doing a 15 minute jog burns more calorie than if you walk for 30 minutes. In order to burn fat effectively, the intensity of the exercise is more important than the duration of how you do your exercise.
