Diet for Ex-Smokers

People who live an extreme lifestyle need special weight management programs to stay healthy and at, the same time, also do weight control.  For instance, people who just quitted smoking recently need special attention when it comes their health.

Smoking compromises the body’s ability to function properly.  This is the reason why we often see smokers who are so frail-looking or, if they are fat, does not look healthy at all. Since an ex-smoker already did enough damage on his or her body due to the chemicals he inhales from cigarette smoke, an ex-smoker needs to take in a lot of antioxidants, Vitamin C, Carotenoids and Green Leafy Vegetables. A good weight management plan merely involves boosting up the immunity of a person to ward off the threats of diseases. On the other hand, these elements also help the body to lose weight fast once the smoker has already gained ample weight.

Following a fad diet is not recommended at all since most fad diets restrict the body from getting the much-needed nutrients from all food groups. In fact, a simple yet healthy weight management plan is needed by all ex-smokers.

Once you quit smoking, the body is given yet another chance to repair the damaging effects that smoking has inflicted to the body. Once you quit smoking, let your body gain weight first. It is a tell-tale sign that the body is on its way to recovery.
